Part of the inaugural Barakah Archive Series.

This piece is part of the Barakah Archive Series, a small collection of one-of-a-kind garments created from reclaimed textiles connected to community history.

The patchwork backs incorporate:

• unused fabrics originally cut for hijabi-friendly masks during the pandemic
• reclaimed cotton textiles from the Barakah Community Closet
• heritage fabrics including African cotton prints
• reclaimed household and designer textiles

Each garment required many hours of patchwork construction and contains dozens of individual fabric pieces.

One-of-a-kind patchwork garments created from reclaimed materials are often priced as collector pieces in the $800–$1500 range, particularly when the textiles cannot be reproduced.

Because these pieces are part of a small experimental studio series and created from fabrics connected to our community work, they are being offered at an intentionally accessible price.

Studio Price: $475

Fabric Story

This elegant Power Silhouette Abaya features a luminous chenille velvet front in a soft moonlight tone — a blend of creamy ivory and subtle grey that catches the light with quiet sophistication.

The back showcases an intricate patchwork composition made entirely from reclaimed cotton textiles. Many of these fabrics were originally cut during the pandemic to create hijabi-friendly face masks but were never used when mask demand suddenly ended. Rather than discarding the materials, they have been thoughtfully transformed into a stunning patchwork design.

The patchwork also includes textiles sourced through the Barakah Community Closet and African cotton fabrics that introduce layers of cultural heritage and visual richness.

The back of the garment is lined with a soft creamy beige reclaimed fabric, adding structure while honoring the garment’s commitment to sustainability.

Only one Cream & Grey Patchwork piece exists.

This piece embodies quiet luxury and thoughtful craftsmanship. The luminous velvet front creates an elegant silhouette, while the patchwork back tells a powerful story of transformation — turning unused materials into something beautiful and enduring.

An heirloom piece designed to be treasured for years.
