The Protection She Carries — Handmade Bag Jewelry

The Protection She Carries honors that deeply feminine strength. It reflects the way women nurture, guard, pray for and stand beside those they love—while recognizing that true protection belongs to the Creator alone. We do what is within our hands, and we seek refuge, guidance and protection from God.

Large African horn beads and square goat-bone beads form the foundation of the piece, accented with hand-cast African “gold,” small agate beads and decorative evil-eye beads.

While the evil-eye motif has long appeared across many cultures as a symbol of protection, we believe that protection comes from Allah alone. These beads are included solely for their beauty and cultural design; they hold no power in and of themselves.

Each element is individually strung by hand, allowing the natural variations in the horn, bone and stone to remain visible. Finished with a gold-tone clasp, it can be attached to a handbag, tote, zipper, belt loop or anything else she carries.

At seven inches in total length, it has enough scale to make an impact without overwhelming the bag beneath it.
